Golf April 28 at Hartington CC

by Scott Guzinski

April 29, 2008

The Plainview golf team traveled to Hartington for a triangular with Hartington CC and Randolph.  Hartington CC continued their dominance over the Pirates, especially on their home course.  Hartington CC won with a 154, Plainview had 172 and Randolph was last with 179.  Josh Kounovsky led the way with a 39 and Brett Korth was next with 41.  Josh Scranton, who claims the course doesn’t like him, shot 44.  Nate Wragge, who had shot 72 on this course a week earlier, didn’t fare as will and came in with 48.  Wragge had several out-of-bounds and figured that his problem was that he wasn’t swinging hard enough.  Jared Forbes completed the team scoring with 53.

The reserve team was also beaten by Hartington CC 178-190.  The reserves played well but Hartington CC had a golfer shoot 41, which made the difference.  Jacob Proskovec, Adam Krueger, and Nic Miller all shot 47 with only Jacob having seen the course before.  Zac Masat and Kenny Albin were close behind with 49 and 50, respectively.

Lucas Hitz with a 49 and Britton Hamm with 54 also played but didn’t have a full team.  Trenton Sinkler and Bret Springer played against a twosome from Randolph in a scramble format and shot a respectable 45.  This easily outdistance their opponents.
