Girls Golf @ Hartington
Despite several girls having career best scores, the Plainview girls’ golf team lost to Hartington 236-239 on the Hartington Golf Course on September 16th. Kayla Bowman with a career best of 50 was the medallist. She played a bogie round until the last three holes which can be the toughest at Hartington.
Sam Hart also with a career best of 58 also played well with only one 9 and one 8 on her scorecard. Nicole Sorenson who played well except for the two par threes. She was 13 over on these two holes to finish with a 64. She still has some course management issues to iron out and her score will drop drastically. Sarah MacGregor ended the team scoring with a 67. MacGregor was playing well but was 14 over on the last three holes. She is continuing to work on her mechanics and when she can play 9 holes with them, her score will also drop. Asia Berg also with a career best of 68 had her score not used in the team scoring. Berg is feeling more comfortable with every meet and is close to helping the team out with her score.
Playing in a reserve role were Tina Rosberg-78 ( career best), Carissa Pollock-81 ( career best), and Briana Hamm-85. These three girls are improving every day of practice and should continue to drop their scores.
Even though the girls lost the meet, they were “really, really, really close” to winning and therefore stopped for piazza.
