Pollock and Kocian Advance to STATE FCCLA

Congratulations to Carissa Pollock and Shelby Kocian on their first place top gold finish at the FCCLA District 8 STAR (students taking action with recognition) Competition held at Wayne State College on Wednesday, February 10th.

 They will now move on to the state competition held in Lincoln in April where they will again present their Interpersonal Communications Project: Community Relationships.  This will be Pollock's 3rd trip to state competition.  She previously competed at state in Focus on Children with Hollie Nelson as her teammate her freshman year and last year individually competed in Career Investigation. Kocian is also making a repeat trip to state as last year she competed in Interpersonal Communication while attending West Boyd High School.

Also competing at District STAR was Briana Hamm who received a silver medal in Chapter Showcase.  Lisa Lenox competed in Job Interview and received a silver medal. Lisa also received runner-up silver (2nd place) in her Career Investigation event.  Samantha Hart also competed in Job Interview and received a bronze medal.
