FCS Students Assist Quilts for Kids
With the direction of Lisa Klein of Plainview, Fashion Design and Clothing/Textiles students at Plainview High School completed 8 quilts for the Lincoln Chapter of Quilts for Kids, a volunteer based organization that makes and distributes quilts to sick children in Nebraska hospitals. Quilts for Kids provides pre cut kits for volunteers to piece, quilt, and return.
The Quilts for Kids vision â¦Sharing our love of quilting to help bring smiles to children-one stitch, one quilt, one child at a time. This vision was seen as students created beautifully sewn quilts and desired perfection with every seam, as they wanted the best quilt for their infant. Students have plans in progress to share the Quilts for Kids program at the District 8 FCCLA Leadership Conference with the goal to encourage other schools/FCCLA chapters across the state to take part in the program.
