Pirate Tracksters Qualify for State
Congratulations to the following Pirate athletes who qualified for the State Track Meet!
Dalson Hitz - 110 High Hurdles, 300 Intermediate Hurdles
Michael Moeller - Long Jump
Haydn Daudt - 200 M Dash
DJ Hart - 100 M Dash, 200 M Dash
Nicole White - High Jump
Girls' 4 X 100 M Relay - DJ Hart, Abby Krueger, Brittany White, Keylee Forker

Boys' District Results:
Plainview scored 44 points Thursday at the West Holt track. This was the best team and individual performances we had all year. We expected Hitz to qualify in both hurdle races, but Haydn Daudt was a bit of a surprise. This kid has average ability but his heart and his determination were bigger than I expected. He ran from start to finish his best time ever (23.9), giving him a 2nd place medal and a trip to Omaha in the 200 M Dash. This is a great accomplishment for him.
In the long jump, Michael Moeller had an outstanding performance. His jump of 20' 6 3/4" was good enough for 2nd place and a trip to Omaha. Four of his six jumps were over 20 feet. He has the potential to jump 21 feet at state.
Hitz clipped one hurdle in the Highs, going from 1st to 2nd in the blink of an eye but still good enough to qualify for Omaha. In the the 300 hurdles, Hitz ran a personal best of 41.5. He ran an excellent race, staying in rhythm and never pushing too hard. He never panicked, just ran the race the way it was supposed to be run.
Taylor Sauser also had a strong performance and finished 4th in the 3200 M Run with a time of 12:18.8.
