2018 District Speech Contest
The 2018 District Speech Contest was one for the record books. For the first time in school history, every single member on Plainview’s district team earned a medal. We also had three individual-event champions, had seven students who were double-medalists; and brought home the team championship trophy, earning 435 points overall, edging out last year’s D-1 state champion Wausa, who had 406 points.
Following are a list of all our medalists. The top three are the ones who will be competing at State next week. Anyone who can’t make the trip but would like to see their performances, you can attend the Open House on Monday, March 19th (with introductions starting at 6:45 and performances to follow). Or on the day of state speech, March 23rd, you can follow their results on the website: NSAAhome.org/speech.
