NTHS Inducts Members
National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) inducted 10 members during its induction ceremony Thursday, May 9. The Plainview High School NTHS Chapter recognizes and honors students for outstanding achievement in their career and technical education programs. This recognition is achieved through a nomination, evaluation, and selection process based upon exemplary citizenship, leadership, workmanship, and scholarship. The highest recognition bestowed upon career and technical education students is through membership in the National Technical Honor Society.
President Teya Boyer, along with current members and inductees, conducted the candle ceremony, which describes the seven membership attributes. Following, six seniors and 4 juniors were inducted. Seniors inducted were Marque Albin, Reagan Choat, Madelynn Dougherty, Brooke Rafert, Ethan Rix, and Roni Prewitt; and juniors Hannah Darnell, Corben Kment, Shayla Jacobsen, and Baili Prewitt. They received a certificate of membership, membership card and pin, tassel, NTHS sticker emblem, and diploma seal. Current Members are Camden Dummer and Abby Kromarek.
Following the induction, the 2024-25 NTHS Officers were installed by Teya Boyer. Officers and positions are as follows: President-Shayla Jacobsen, Vice-President-Corben Kment, Secretary-Hanna Darnell, and Treasurer-Baili Prewitt.
Shayla Jacobsen and Corben Kment presented the seniors with their medallions which will be worn at graduation. NTHS advisers are Career and Technical Education Instructors Ronita Jacobsen-Family and Consumer Sciences, Chad Kment-Agriculture Education, Kim Miller-Business, and Derek Juden Skilled and Technical Sciences.
